"What is a Human Being?"... Seriously?

A friend of mine has returned to Uni to get a different degree so he can change his life. Welcome to my generation's version of the mid-life crisis. No sportscars or shiny people named Blane or Ashley for us! No, we re-educate...or buy cottages...

He emailed me asking me to double check his presentation about meditation and "...oh, can you also record for me a 2 minute video of you explaining what is a human being? Thanks".

Why is he doing this to himself? Even better questions, why is he dragging me into it? and why did I say yes?

I think the fact of the arbitrary measurement of 2 minutes being added is giving me a hassle. Should the answer require 2 minutes? Is this what the prof was looking for? Did he even ask the question for the answer or was it to find out something else about his class? This is the kind of thing that keeps me from returning to school; if I ever have a mid-life crisis I'll be buying a cottage.

Nonetheless, I said yes, so here goes: What is a human being?

A compilation of matter, cells, and energy that has the ability to think, breathe, grow, change, and evolve. Many can reproduce, create, destroy, teach, and inspire. The human existence is finite but I believe that the energy that animates us and makes us different from one another is not. I believe every human being carries a spark of the greater glow; the Unversal Energy, and that it returns there when it leaves the human form; that it is infinite.

It doesn't take 2 minutes to say but, it did take years of research, experience, searching, and meditation to compile. It'll have to do... for now...

Peace Out, Lovelies
